After graduating from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Economics, Hisaya Shirai joined Yasuda Trust and Company Inc., where he focused on treasury investment development. In 1998, he moved to Lone Star Opportunity Fund, where he engaged in the pricing of non-performing loans, real-estate valuations, and the management of acquired assets. In 1999, he joined Merrill Lynch Japan Incorporated, where he was responsible for pricing and underwriting distressed debt, real estate, financing, and equity investment transactions. He was promoted to Director in 2005. He then joined Morgan Stanley Japan Securities Co., Ltd. as Executive Director and was responsible for the sourcing and origination of equity investments, specifically in the Media, Entertainment, and, Contents sector. In 2007, he co-founded White Notes. He remains a registered Real Estate Transaction Manager.

Upon leaving an engineering position at Nestle Japan Ltd. in 1999, Yukito Ono entered the financial field. He joined Deutsche Securities Limited in 2000 and was involved in a wide range of investment banking transactions, including cross-border M&A advisory and capital markets financing. In March 2004, he joined Merrill Lynch’s Global Principal Investment Division, where he engaged in equity investments associated with corporate turnaround. In May 2005, he joined Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Co., Ltd. (formerly Mitsubishi Securities Co., Ltd.), the securities subsidiary of the largest Japanese financial group, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. He served as senior manager of the financial institutions coverage group and provided financial advisory services, such as global offering of a Japanese bank’s preferred trust securities and M&A in the financial sector. He joined White Notes in 2007 and has been involved in advisory services for an M&A transaction of a middle-sized publishing company, control practice for contents production committees, and contents valuation. Upon obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, the USA, Chong Wei Chua worked for American, Malaysian and European renowned corporate, contributing his process improvement and cost management expertise in the lines of manufacturing, packaging and supply chain management. After spending 7 years in the industry, he was next recommended by Japan embassy to take up research grant from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEXT), attaching with Waseda University, Tokyo, for academic researches while completing his Master degree. He published a total of 7 conference proceedings, both international and domestic (Japan), over his 3-year research tenure. He is also in the process of completing his charted accountancy with Charted Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA, the UK). He joined White Notes in 2010 as Research Manager, leveraging his broad business experience and multi-lingual proficiency he is entrusted to globalize White Notes influence in the MEC sectors.

Mr. Takayuki Hatanaka graduated from Yokohama National University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Information, Department of Business Administration. His main profession encompasses consolidated tax consultation and organization restructuring advisory for public listed enterprise. His client base ranges from listed enterprises and corresponding subsidiaries, SMEs, to non-profit, independent institutional and fund organization, providing them tax and accounting advisory services. In 2007 when Japan first converged national and local tax, he conducted e-filing for a whole corporate group. He also served the policy council of METI in providing authoritative comments on the corporate group tax system for the tax reform hearings during 2010. He was appointed by TKC as a special committee member in charge of consolidated tax, corporate group tax and tax effect accounting system. He facilitated various seminar in regards to consolidated taxation, tax effect accounting, organization restructuring taxation, taxation strategy, and others. His book publication included: “Corporate Growth with Strong Taxation” (Daizo Finance Association) “Heisei 22 Highlights on Tax Policy Reformation” (TKC publisher) and “Taxation Strategy for Enterprise Group” (TKC publisher). Hidenori Nakagawa is a graduate of the University of Tokyo (LL. B., 1990) and after attending the Legal Training and Research Institute of the Supreme Court of Japan (1990-1992), graduated from the University of Chicago Law School (LL.M., 1997). He has over 10 years of experience as a legal attorney in M&A, real estate financing, investment, and advisory businesses in both the US and Japan. In 1999, he joined Merrill Lynch Japan Incorporated and held key positions in the legal and compliance division as well as on the principal investment team. He is currently a partner in at TMI Associates. Hidenori Nakagawa is a registered lawyer in Japan and New York, NY. He also is a member of the Tokyo Bar Association.
